Giclee Printing Giclee (pronounced zhee clay) is French for "to spray". The Giclee printing process utilizes a very fine spray technical process that produces much finer detail and color than the printing process of using plates and printing presses. This process is now used worldwide. The Louvre, The Los Angeles Art Museum, The New York Metropolitan Museum as examples, now use this process to produce reproductions of their art master pieces. The Giclee printing process is now available to artists at a reasonable cost that allows collectors to purchase artwork that has all the qualities of the original painting. This is particularly true if an original watercolor painting is reproduced on the same 100% rag content watercolor paper as the original. |
